Artwork For A Country Artist

This Mother's Day will be extra special for Fair Play artist Jenny Mayor. Dubbed the "soul painter," Mayor, who is a mom herself, will travel to Nashville, Tenn., this weekend to deliver a custom painting to the wife of country music artist Aaron Tippin.

Earlier this year, Mayor was invited to display her artwork at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center in Fairfield, Iowa, during the month of March. Her trip to Iowa to feature her artwork coincided with Tippin's March 5 performance at the convention center.

"I had the opportunity to meet Aaron Tippin after his concert, 'Unplugged,' and he walked with me and took a tour of my solo art exhibition, 'Soul Expressions,'" Mayor said. "He told me that I was an amazing artist and that I should continue sharing my work with the world."

Mayor said Tippin encouraged her in her work and that the two have kept in contact since the concert. Tippin recently commissioned Mayor to create a piece for his wife for Mother's Day entitled "Rose Garden."

After she returns from Tennessee, Mayor will continue her work on a new collection for the May Gallery in Scottsdale, Ariz., entitled "The Celestial Series." She will return to Iowa at the end of month to continue sharing her work.

Mayor is a 1995 graduate of Fair Play High School. In addition to being a yoga instructor and homeschooling mom to her 11-year-old daughter, Eva, Mayor has had her artwork featured in several galleries including the Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center, Art Sync Gallery, CMH Burgundy Ball and more. Mayor has been a commissioned artist at the May Gallery since November 2015.
